Pricing
How pricing works
Clear, simple, and sent by email. Ask for our rate sheet and we’ll send it within one business day, with no phone call needed.
Hourly care
Billed by the hour, in visits of four hours or more and at least 12 hours a week.
Live-in care
A daily rate for around-the-clock support from a small, steady team of caregivers who take turns, so everyone stays rested.
No evening or weekend surcharge
Evenings and weekends cost the same as weekdays, and there’s no fee for paying by card. Major holidays have a holiday rate, shown on the rate sheet.
Included in every hour
- A home visit and a written care plan
- A caregiver who is our employee, supervised by us
- Backup coverage if your caregiver is sick or away
- Background checks, training and state registration
- Insurance, workers’ compensation and payroll taxes
- Visit notes, family updates, and someone on call day and night
Calm Harbor or hiring privately?
Hiring a caregiver directly can look cheaper by the hour. Here’s what you would be taking on yourself.
| Who takes care of… | Calm Harbor | Hiring privately |
|---|---|---|
| Background checks and references | Us | You |
| Payroll, taxes and workers’ compensation | Us | You |
| Liability insurance and bonding | Us | You |
| Training, including dementia care | Us | You |
| A backup when the caregiver is sick or away | Us | You |
| Supervision and regular updates | Us | You |
Paying for care
Care is paid privately, by the family or from your parent’s own funds. One sentence about long-term care insurance, once we decide whether we help families with claims (decision D2).
